According to Lars Mallant
Light and darkness are sources of inspiration for me. Where there is light, darkness disappears, and where darkness arises, light fades. To me, light and darkness are not opposites; they are like yin and yang. By correctly balancing light and darkness, you can guide the viewer in the desired direction. Only this way can you amaze, surprise, and awe.
Light allows us to see every landscape with new eyes as darkness falls. It creates an image that speaks more than a thousand words.
But light also pertains to time and space, making it possible to create depth. Therefore, I play with light to offer a unique landscape experience every evening. Each night, a new world unfolds before you.
More light means less darkness, and darkness is necessary to stir the viewer’s imagination. By alternating dark and light areas, an indescribable landscape experience is created.
In my view, landscape lighting should never be bombastic or excessive, as this would make it impossible to achieve the outdoor magic.
